Based in East Sussex, Custom Fronts was founded by the couple Ian and Rachel. They wanted to create high-quality, custom kitchens without an unreasonable price tag. Their doors, panels and drawer fronts are made from durable birch wood, which can be supplied with a variety of hardwood veneers or laminates, sprayed in a choice of matte color or even finished in solid brass. You can choose between integrated handles in different designs or attractive handles in brass, chrome, black or copper. In addition, they also make beautiful worktops, shelves and even benches. Everything is designed and made under one roof and can be shipped worldwide. Ian and Rachel also have plans to open a showroom near Brighton in the near future. 3. Reform

Founded in 2014 by Jeppe Christensen and Michael Andersen, Reform is the go-to place for eye-catching kitchen doors, drawer fronts and worktops. All parts were designed by architects from Cecelie Mantz, Afteroom, Note Design Studio and Norm Architects. This allows you to turn your simple IKEA METOD kitchen into a luxury designer kitchen. The collection spans a range of styles, from the 1960s-inspired ‘Basic’ and sleek, diagonally grained ‘Degree’ to the luxurious smoked oak ‘Surface’, and can be made to fit in both the ‘FAKTUM’ and ‘METOD’ cabinets to fit. The company ships worldwide and has showrooms in Copenhagen, Aarhus, Berlin and New York. Prices range from approximately € 2,300 to € 13,000.

4. Husk

Based in Bristol, Husk was founded by Dave Young and Ross Norgate. After 10 years they decided to only make custom furniture and to expand Young & Norgate with customizing IKEA kitchens. The doors, drawer fronts and panels are made of a core of birch wood finished with Fenix NTM, a high-tech matt laminate that is scratch and fingerprint resistant, water resistant, hygienic and very easy to clean. They can come in a wide variety of colors, either with sleek push-to-open mechanisms or eye-catching Ferm Living branded handles. A selection of faucets, sinks and worktops are also available. Husk delivers across Europe, and prices for a small kitchen start at around £ 1,928 for the fronts only or £ 2,227 with a sink, taps and countertops.

5. Plykea

London-based Plykea was founded by Tim Diacon, who decided to team up with friend and furniture designer Adam Vergette after struggling to find stylish, affordable options for his own kitchen. The result is a range of plywood doors, drawer fronts, worktops and panels, either covered with Formica or Fenix NTM laminate in various colors, or finished with a matte, water-resistant lacquer for a natural look. Plykea also has a wide range of handles with which you can finish an IKEA kitchen, from cut-out and semi-recessed handles to very sturdy handles in black, white or brass. Prices range from around £ 2,000 to £ 5,000 depending on the size of the kitchen and the options selected. They are based in London, but Plykea ships to all European countries.

6. HØLTE

Based on the principle that good design and quality materials should be accessible to everyone, London-based company HØLTE was founded in 2017. The founders and designers Fi and Tom have more than 20 years of experience in architecture and fashion. They believe that a beautiful, functional kitchen improves everyday life, and they want to contribute to this with their company. HØLTE makes super beautiful plywood doors and drawer fronts covered with durable high-pressure laminate, MDF doors and fronts faced with Lino, and a selection of solid wood veneer. Designers Sandy and Frank Sonnemans of KOAK DESIGN , based in the Netherlands, make Ikea kitchen and drawer fronts from European hardwood. The fronts are available in different finishes, painted to whitewashed and stained black. They started in 2009 out of a love for beautiful, sustainable and natural interiors, and since then they have also created beautiful kitchens based on the IKEA METOD kitchen system.
