Every parent knows how difficult it can sometimes be to take into account young playing children in your home. How do you keep an eye on them? How do you store everything safely? Where do you leave the toys? How do you create a practical play corner that also looks good? These are all questions that concern parents in a home. Line Design Studio was commissioned to furnish a home for a young family of four. The design of this beautiful child-friendly living room is an important part of that.
Child-friendly living room
The clients live in a spacious two-storey apartment located in the Russian city of Kaliningrad. It has a total of no less than 160m2. So spacious! They have therefore decided to fully furnish one entire floor for the children. On the ground floor you will find the family living room and the kitchen, which is mainly about peace and quiet and togetherness. On the top floor they have furnished this second living room, among other things. A spacious bright child-friendly living room, where you can find a number of inspiring ideas.
Skylights in the living room
It is the top floor of the complex, so you have to deal with a large sloping wall. Three skylights are built next to each other in this sloping wall, which provide a lot of natural sunlight in this living room. The interior architects have opted for a beautiful modern neutral style. The original brick walls are painted white, while other parts of the walls are covered with beautiful square wood panels. They have combined this with an attractive light wooden floor.
Coffee table for children to draw on
There is a cozy sitting area with a large green lounge sofa, a modern black TV cabinet, with the TV on the white brick wall above it, and a large geometric rug. A super handy coffee table has been placed on top, which is ideal for children. It is a round wooden coffee table with three legs. Two normal wooden legs and a handy black storage cabinet. The table is often used by the children to draw on it. They therefore use this box to store markers, paint and brushes. Super handy right ?!
Chalkboard, climbing frame and pull-up bar
You will find even more storage space in this living room in the form of the sleek whitecupboard in the sloping wall . This built-in wardrobe continues on a wooden wall, where a large chalkboard has been created for the children. And that’s not all, because there you will also find a very cool wooden climbing frame. The children can therefore enjoy playing in this living room. But you will also find something for the parents here, because a pull-up bar is also mounted on the wooden wall next to the TV cabinet.
